I’m going to open my pool next weekend . I peaked under the cover and the water looks crystal clear 😊. I emptied my sand filter last year and the filter will have new sand . After I test the water - as long as my numbers, I’m thinking especially the cc is all with normal ranges is there any need to shock it ? Everyone always says shock it when you open it. I’m not sure if that makes sense if the water Dosent need it right ?

Correct, not necessary to shock.

However you might do this test to rule out algae (even if you can't see it)...Link-->Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

If you fail OCLT, then you need to SLAM...Link-->SLAM Process
