Opening my pool and want to do it real nice this time

Just so you know- you likely don’t have to backwash as frequently as you are currently.
Just when pressure rises 25% over clean pressure. That can take a month or a week depending upon what all has gotten in your pool & the size of your filter (it’s not in your signature). I usually only need to backwash a hand full of times during my 7 month pool season.
Wow. Ok. As u know my pool is only 15 x 24 and i only put liquid chlorine in. And most or all debris which i have not had much of sine the first week of june is all caught by the skimmer sock. My filter basket is clean. The only stuff i c in my skimmer basket is those japanese beetles and such. No leaves or anything like that. And my pressure on that gauge is always running at 15. But let me ask u about vacuuming. Recently i have been vacuuming to Waste. Is that always necessary or can I sometimes vacuum regular. Because vacuuming to waster loses me a lot of water because i can vacuum just so fast if u know what i mean🙃🙃🙃

You can certainly vacuum to filter with normal amounts of debris.
If its big stuff you might wanna get an inline leaf catcher like this to go between your vac & the skimmer/inlet
There are many brands available

yes, I do-- it is a great old unit- it is called the pool rover junior and I do not want to jinx anything but it has worked for me for well over 10 years. And it is still doing a fine job- I just used it today. I just like to manually vacuum sometimes that's all

Robots are a bazillion times more convenient, but they're not nearly as good at the job.

I vac mine in the pool. It's 95% swimming and 5% work.

Two type of 'robots'. The type connected to pool suction and the autonomous electrically powered type.

I’m going to suggest that you remove your full name from your profile as you are discussing when you‘ll be out of town and your general location is listed too. I believe Trouble Free Pooler are a trustworthy bunch, but this site is open to the public.
