Wait until the pool water rises enough so that you can turn on the SWG for the season. Use LC and keep CYA lower until then. Or pucks in a floater, but keep an eye on CYA.
Thank you. What level FC and CYA would you target if we hold off on the SWG? In the past, I have always run the SWG and supplemented with LC (probably not realizing the SWG likely wasn’t contributing much). The digital readout does indicate what level it’s producing at even if you set it at 100% the meter only rises as high as it’s producing (not sure how accurate that meter is).
I believe you added to a 30 CYA, correct? You can keep it there until you are ready to turn on the SWG. Use this FC/CYA Levels to find your minimum to never go under. Add to be above that when you test. I run on the high side for my CYA number. Don't want to go below.
