Hi everyone!
Our pool is finally done (yay) but I think we’re having a problem with our pump/filter. We have a 2hp Pentair Superflo VST and a Pentair Clean and Clear Plus cartridge filter. The builder set a schedule for our pump to run at 2200 RPMs 24/7 during the first 30 days while we brush our PebbleSheen and get everything balanced. The concern I have is the pressure gauge on the top of our filter reads just over 0 psi and has since the builder “set everything up” one week ago. He saw it at zero and acted as though that was normal, but I had a bad feeling because his guy was here for over 2 hours and called him for help after attempting to turn everything on and set it up. I read online that this gauge should be at 10 for the filter to work properly, so I became more concerned. When you put your hand in the skimmer there’s barely any suction. My husband put the pump on high (like 3400 RPMs) and the pressure gauge went up to 10 and we could feel suction in the skimmer. We cleaned out the pump basket thinking it could be blocked but it hasn’t made a difference. So I guess what I am trying to figure out is, is the pressure supposed to be at 10? If so, how big of a problem is this
Thanks for any advice!
