Hi all,

Im having a an inground pool built now and they are ready for the pumps and filter. I have a main pump and filter but I also have 2 extra pumps --1 for the slide and 1 for the water fall. My question is do I buy 2 basic cartridge filters to add on to the pumps to get extra filtration? I know its probably not necessary but does it add much. The cost of each filter is appro $300 so its not cost prohibitive.

Thanks in advance.

More than likely. But, if we knew your location and more about your pool we could answer that question better. :) More here about that, Pool School - Read This BEFORE You Post

Sorry about that. Here you go. They only brought the equipment over today. Other equipment such as heater, SWG, pool vac is still pending.

Nehal - Bridgewater, NJ. IG plaster/gunite 850 sq ft. Free form. Pentair Intelliflo VS+SVRS with Pentair Quad DE 100 Filter. Spa on Hayward 6060 booster pump. Water feature on Pentair Whisperflo 1.5hp, water slide on Pentair Whisperflo 2hp. Heater TBD. SWG TBD. Building 7/2017.

Yes, that is plenty of filter. Ask your PB to take back the Intelliflo SVRS and give your the regular intelliflo VS 011018 or the intelliflo OK VS 011055. You don't need the SVRS, ts is safety vacuum release system designed to be retrofitted into older pools with single bottom drains. People experience annoying suction errors with those pumps. Also ask them to size your Intellichlor SWG at least twice as big as your pool, ie pool is 20k gallons then get the IC40 rated for 40k gallons.

Also, skip any type of suction or pressure pool cleaner and use the money to buy a robot like the S-series Maytonics robot. Robots are 100% better than old style pool cleaners. I had an old Pentair Legend II pressure cleaner and my S200/Discovery robot cleans at least 5x better and easier. They are typically under 800 bucks.
