older endless pool question

Good day, Great forum.

I will be helping a friend buy/install an old stock (unused) endless pool that has been in storage for close to 15 years.

I'm planning on trying to turn on the fastlane blower momentarily to see that it functions.

Any other suggestions with something like this that has sat for so long. The liner will be new (current) production.

Thanks, Alex

I would move the impeller by hand first to make sure it isn't frozen/stuck. Once it spins freely, I think a quick on/off shouldn't hurt it.

Why don't you try calling Endless Pools and ask them? Their Customer Service is spectacular. If you are worried about calling them when you didn't buy the pool from them, I wouldn't be. Satisfaction with an EP is important to them and they will most likely help you. Plus, they know that down the road there are supplies that you will need to get from them only.

At a guess, I would suspect that there isn't anything that you should really test first. I also wouldn't bother trying the "fastlane blower" assuming that is what they refer to as the Power Unit. To do that, you would need to fill it with the hydraulic fluid and attach the hoses. Those hoses would then be filled with fluid making the connection at the pool potentially a bit messier if the fluid drips out of the hoses. Believe me, I understand the temptation though! Again, run it by EPÂ’s customer service and get their thoughts, they really are wonderful to work with.

Two other things that would be important: Do you have the manual that came with the pool? Have you watched (and re-watched) the installation videos? If not they are at Installation Videos - MyEndlessPool.com
