Old vacuum system in pool

Trying to vacuum through filter in an inground pool that only has one skimmer and no main drain for suction. The skimmer has two of following adapters to vacuum. They are old and broken was hoping there is an upgrade I can purchase.

Look on the underside of the skimmer lid for a part number for the skimmer.

That is a vacuum plate. It is sometimes easier to use but you can also put the end of the hose directly into the port at the bottom of the skimmer.
