Not Sure What To Think. Totally Confused About What Chemistry

I just replaced my Aquarite system with a new Aquarite Pro with Sense and Dispense with acid feed and the installer was trying to tell me how I needed to keep the chemistry for the system to work correctly. Well I am totally confused now. He told me that I need to keep the PH at 7.4 and the Alkalinity at 50 and the CYA at 0. At those numbers my CSI will be -0.6. I have always had my PH at 7.7 or 7.8 and Alkalinity at 60 or 70 and CYA at about 40. Is he correct? I am trying to learn how to read the ORP in Mv and how to keep my pool balanced. Current Aquarite Pro read out is 700Mv, PH 7.4, Salt 3800. I have seen variations in the Mv range from 650Mv to 750Mv at different times of the day.

Well, this is why we never recommend the ORP sensor controllers ... they are not compatible with outdoor pools that must have CYA in them to protect the FC. The ORP output can also be affected my many other things. Try searching the forum. I know there was just a post yesterday talking about ORP sensors by Joyfulnoise.

My recommendation, abandon the ORP sensor, switch the SWG back to "normal" % output mode and maintain the chemistry as recommended by TFP.

The pH controller should still operate fine, assuming you keep it calibrated.
