Pool new in July, cleaned Pentair Quad DE 80 filter once about 4 months ago. Just some spa use since then, no pool, and my water is always beautifully balanced. The recommended cleaning interval has come and gone, but I went from 11 to 13 PSI since that time and 42 to 40 GPM. Feels like it is doing fine. Can I wait? Or better to just clean it at predictable intervals? Thanks!

I only do it when pressure rises above 17-18. Normal pressure is 12 for me.
Our 25% psi increase cleaning intervals are a good starting point. If yours goes longer with good flow, you're welcome to see for how long. You also need to pay more attention as time goes on because restricted flow is a given at some point.
If mine was close to the 25%, I would personally clean them at the first convienence, solely to know I wouldn't be doing it again anytime soon. It would bother me more to have to pay attention to the flow.
