No PSI on StaRite

Hi there,

My StaRite filter is not getting any PSI. The pumps are running fine and have water running. I’ve checked the impellers on the pumps, removed any debris from the pumps and skimmers and still have no PSI. My next step was going to be to clean the filter catridges. Is that what I should do?

Either your PSI gauge is broken or the orifice to the gauge is clogged.

If you have water flow out of the returns then you have PSI in the filter. A dirty filter will have higher PSI, not zero.

I don’t have a VS pump. I have a Jandy Flopro 1 HP. That should’ve been in my signature, but it appears that info got cleared out. I’ll need to update that. How to I check the orfice? Will cleaning the filters help?

Cleaning the filters is not the answer.

You can unscrew the gauge and examine it. When you screw the gauge back in don’t over tighten it.
