Yes, get you pH down to 7.2 using muriatic acid...then start the SLAM procedure until your FC will hold at 16 ppm. Just be prepared that you may need a ton of chlorine to get your FC to hold. Once the FC starts holding maintain 16 until the SLAM is complete:

CC is less than 0.5
Pass the OCLT
Water is clear

I don't know what the cost is at the pool store, but you can also use regular household bleach that is unscented and contains nothing else such as non splash etc.

I get a few 121OZ bottles of 8.25% from Home Depot every so often to have on hand
