Like Jason says this is based on outdated understanding of the buffering effects of CYA on Chlorine, from what I understand that 1-4 ppm chlorine range is the same numbers that the industry and regulators were stating 50-60 years ago. I know personally they were saying it 30+ years ago. As to my location I am about 60 miles north east of Orange, on a side note don't be surprised if I do drop out of this message thread soon, as my wife and I are leaving to go on an Alaskan cruise tomorrow.
