Owned the pool for a year, AFAIK it has only been run with Clorox XtraBlu pucks up to now, hence the slightly elevated CYA, though honestly it wasn't as high as I was expecting, so maybe the prior owner also used some regular chlorine at one point. I was looking at PoolMath and it seems I want my FC to be closer to 5-7, so I dumped some Fred Meyer brand 8.25% bleach in, will see how that does us. I have no idea yet how much bleach I will want to stock up on, but it seems like Cash and Carry may be a good option at $1.58/1gal 6%
Pool looks great so far but anything to watch out for would be much appreciated, I'm trying to keep my mother in law from bankrupting us buying pool store supplies! We have only just started swimming in it so I'm interested to see how our chlorine consumption goes.
