I just got a new 12.5K gallon SWG vinyl pool on May 1. I've been using Pool Math and a Taylor 2006c test kit since then to try to balance the chemical levels. Levels generally look pretty good, but TA is very high and CYA is borderline high. FC also seem high but Pool Math says ok based on other chemical levels. I would appreciate a quick review of my chemical levels and any suggestions on whether adjustments are necessary.

Test Results - May 14
FC - 9.0
pH - 7.7
TA - 250
CH - 400
CYA - 90
SALT - 3400
Temp - 56 F
CSI - 0.22

Just keep an eye on your pH as it will move quicker with the TA that high.

You can start adjusting the SWCG % to bring the FC down a little and with splashout the CYA will slowly go down.

A pool shuld be trouble free. Don't chase perfect numbers.

Brrrrr. I think you need to add some heat more than anything else!

Don't worry that the FC is high. It's not really, not with that high CYA.

Just adjust pH as needed and TA will come down. It's going to take the same amount of acid whether you drive it down aggressively over a couple days or take a couple weeks.
