9k gal IG Pebble, trichlor tabs

Lots of calcium deposits around pool lip, now I see why.

Last month had pool cover installed, has greatly increased temp and decreased evaporation. :) I just received the TF100 and this was my first test.

Looking at my values, I would think I need to get the FC up, decrease TA and CH and CYA..

I am guessing that with minimal debris getting into pool, less sun breakdown of chlorine, and no sunlight for algae, that my chlorine usage will decrease from what it was prior?

The high CYA is your largest problem. I would suggest a 50% water change and then a retest.
What is the CH, pH and TA of your fill water?

TA is generally the last thing to even consider worrying about.

You do need to maintain the FC above the minimum listed for your CYA in the [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA] to avoid algae issues.

Welcome to the forum! :handshake:

Do the dilute test for CYA - see Step 8 in Pool School - CYA

You need chlorine. Follow [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA]. If your CYA is greatly over 100 a partial drain is in order. Your CH is not very high for your fill water. Test the pH, TA and CH of your fill water.

The cover will reduce evaporation and FC loss. But you still need to remove the cover for a few hours of sunlight every few days to burn off CC.

You also need to use liquid chlorine from this point forward for your daily chlorine additions. Use pucks when you will be away for a few days.

I suggest you read Pool School - ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry and consider reviewing the entire Trouble Free Pool School book.
