New user from South America

Hi everybody,

I'm Javier from Paraguay, first pool owner and looking forward to understand some water chemistry.

Well, over here we lack of regulations and standards in many aspects, like pool construction and maintenance, even so we have really nice ones.

Unfortunately, we don´t have test kits as good as the TF-100, Taylor, etc. But we do have like a mailbox service, we can buy on US sites and send to the company address and then they send it over here. Is cheaper than sending trough mail services (UPS, FEDEX, etc).

I was looking to buy a TF-100 but it has restrictions for air transportation, so I will ask if I can bring it seaway (I'll have to wait longer).

Welcome to TFP... a great place to learn all about proper pool care...

I would not think that there is anything in the FT-100 that could not travel by air, as the containers are sealed and small. I'll follow up and see what I can find out.

Very nice looking set up you have. You might want to think about getting a Robot cleaner, so you don't have to roll out the vacuum hose..

Sure it's a great place to learn, all the pool guys that my mom got recommended are "empiric" guys, so being an engineer it's hard for me not to ask "why and how" and of course they don't have a well founded answer. So I started googling until I found TFP.

Regarding to the kit, I will ask my mailbox provider as well because according to their transportations rules, they can't bring corrosives and stuffs like that, but taking in account the small quantities maybe they could make and exception.

I'm seriously looking for a robo cleaner as well

Also, I have seen that over there it’s not usual tiles pool..

welcome to TFP! yeah, not many tile pools in the US, but the rest of the world seems fine with them. not sure why.
