Live here in hot NorthCarolina and purchase a property but the pool is unkept. I know its a vinyl lined pool real dirty, seems to be holding water but real dirty. I know this is kinda a diy website but was curious if there are any pool people in the NC area that are know of that works on pools using the Troyulbe Free Pool method and if so how much is a realistic price to pay to get this swamp up and running? Someone please help. I do know by looking at pool that its a sand filter. With a 1.5 horsepower pump (super pump)

Welcome to TFP! For those who get algae in their pool, they follow the SLAM Process which basically using a specific test kit (TF-100 or Taylor K-2006C) to monitor and keep the FC using liquid chlorine at a specific (higher) free chlorine level. This is done for several days until all SLAM criteria are completed. If you aren't able to perform a SLAM Process yourself, no telling if there is someone locally able to help. But you're welcome to post back for help and advice.

The methods we use require you to test your pool and add chlorine daily, and to clean up a messy pool, you’ll be testing and adding as often as once an hour. Pool services aren’t going to do that for you, so they don’t really follow our methods. (At least to my knowledge!)

We can walk you through it, though. You need to get a good test kit. It would help us out to help you if you post photos, of the pool, the pool equipment, etc. It also would help if you fill out your signature - see mine for an example (if you’re on a phone, turn it sideways to see it).
