Hi everyone,

I bought a house in Northern Colorado with a pool late last year. It's an inground fiberglass of about 13000 gallons. The pool was winterized and under a tarp. I decided to open the pool early before algae could bloom so I could get a handle on how things pool things worked, which was around March 15th.

This is how it looked a little while after removing the tarp and topping up the water. Note the iceburgs:

I slammed, brushed and skimmed and ran the pump 24/7. When I could start seeing the bottom I vacuumed.

I took this picture today:

Water temp: 55f
FC: 9
CC: 0
CYA: 50 (it was quite high before, I drained and refilled a few times to get it here)
TA: 100
CH: 320
PH 7.4

I have both the 2006k, TF-100 and a speed stirrer. I absolutely love the speed stirrer. Chlorine provided by generic 8.25% bleach from the grocery store.

Have I done okay? I've read Pool School & tons of posts on this forum while I try to learn the ways.

Thanks!

Good Job!!! :thumleft: You get an A+ from me...

Wait!!!... Were you actually asking a question or just bragging??? :p

What an amazing improvement..

Thanks for posting the pics,

Thanks! I wasn't sure if it the water should look cleaner than that. I just replaced the skimmer sock and almost had a heart attack, I saw no water in the skimmer. Turns out it was just very clear and not moving, so I'm guess I'm good here! :kim:

Here’s a test. If you put your hand in the water and it feels wet, it’s not as clear as it could be. You need to add more bleach and brush hourly! [emoji41]
