Hello,

I just joined this site after speaking with my postman who just said this is the best way to care for my pool.
First I purchased the Taylor test kit 200c,
I tested all of the different levels and the worst was my CYA, off the chart around 150, so I drained 50%of my in ground plaster pool total gallons is 16,500.
I'm in the process of refilling now, it will take until tomorrow to refill.

What do you suggest I do next to get the water balanced. I have never used liquid chlorine before.
Thank you for any advice.

Welcome to TFP. Good to have you here :)

When the pool is full, re-test and post your test results as follows:

FC X.X
CC X.X
pH X.X
TA XX(X)
CH XXX
CYA XX

Add a half-gallon of chlorinating liquid as it's filling, just to keep any nasties at bay, and another half-gallon after it's full. You can mix it up by brushing with the pool brush, before the water is high enough for the pump to take over.
