New SWG Install - Low FC

However, I also wanted to check my output.
You can't do that with algae going on. You have no idea if you made 9 and lost 7. (Etc etc). You have wild loss right now.

After the slam, passing OCLT, then an overnight gain test will tell you what it produces. (y)

How do I test for phosphates in case in comes down to having to provide that to Circupool?
They'll likely want a pool store printout. I'd order a Taylor K-1106 and find out for myself. It's currently sold out at Amazon which was the cheapest but a couple of online discount suppliers have it much cheaper than Leslie's.

Well, you guys were dead on. I SLAM'd for 4 days. Was very diligent in keeping FC above 20ppm. Passed OCLT and my SWG has been keeping up running roughly 10hrs at 80%. I'm still running on the max range of FC at 10-11ppm just to make sure it was keeping up first. I turned the SWG down to 75% and will slowly adjust until my FC is within range. CYA is at 60, I'm going to slowly bring it up slowly too.

Thanks for everyone's help.

How did things turn out? As I predicted, DSP said my cell ran fine for an hour so they sent it back. The intermittent issue I was having before was now a solid problem. I could not even get the unit to start generating. They seemed stumped so they offered to sell me a refurb control module with 90 day warranty for 300 bucks shipped. I'm pretty annoyed, but I'm going to keep testing for a bit to make sure the SWG is behaving before bumping up my CYA. In the Houston heat if I run less than 70-80 CYA I lose to much FC during the day.

Things are humming along now. I went on vacation for a week and came back to a FC of 12.5. I've dialed my SWG percentage down a bit and today I was down to FC of 9. Now I'm going to tackle the PH and TA next. I started airirate the water today and added enough MA to being the PH down. Water is super clear and we've finally started to be able to enjoy it.

Thats good to hear. As for me, my problem turned out to be a calcium clogged cell. I never even checked this because the cell was only a few weeks old and I keep up with my water chemistry (or so I thought). I run my CSI slightly high as I thought it was better for the plaster. After cleaning my cell, I am making 76 percent of the FC pool math tells me I should be making. That seems on par with other posts I've seen on here. The manufacturers rating of 1.5lb/day is under optimal conditions I'm sure. I actually had to turn my cell down a bit which is a good thing. I also bumped my CYA back up to 80 since it's in the 90s here. I am going to get my TA down from 70 to 50 so my CSI will be slightly positive to avoid gumming up the cell so fast again.
