Hi all, Thanks so much for all the valuable insight. After reading through this entire thread (and many others) I just want to re-iterate what I think I am understanding is correct. Assuming water is balanced. I should add enough Dichlor granules (what I have currently) for long enough to get the CYA at an acceptable level then switch to liquid pool chlorine from there on out until the next water change?

That’s it👍🏻 switch to bleach when cya is around 30ppm.
That’s The dichlor then bleach method in a nut shell
Here’s the full guide 👇
It’s also conveniently pinned 📌 at the top of this sub forum 😁
You may want to check cya occasionally & replenish it as it gets degraded by the heat over time. I tend to use a little dichlor for this reason every few weeks or so.
