New Spa Tile Slope

Hi there,

We had new tiles installed on our flushed spa. The tiles are slopped towards the spa. So there is a slight elevation going towards the spa. Is this the correct way to install tiles on an integrated spa? I thought the tiles would be leveled.

Slope of spillway can also be towards the pool (gaining elevation). Typically they are installed in the same elevation as the original unless advised otherwise.

What is the purpose on this? The slope is higher towards the inside of the pool.

Builds head pressure and pushes the water farther away from the raised bond beam.

Another reason is that it keeps the spillway under water and less evaporation occurs leaving behind calcium.
