Hi all. Today was our first time using our heat pump. It's a Raypak R8350TI-E. I had it in for several hours heating just the pool and it performed great. Then I switched it to the spa and heated it up to about 103°. Around the time it reached the top temperature, it started to shut down giving me a flashing HP on the screen. After he did it several times it went to HP6. According to the manual it says it may not be getting enough water pressure or has a bad pressure switch. I have a variable speed pump. When I had the pump on the normal mode around 2000rpm it was fine. But the spa, once hot, seemed to only be able to operate without throwing the error of it was at full steam 3450 rpm. This doesn't seem right. Or does it? Do I need to have the pump at full speed to run the spa hot? Not the end of the word if that is the case but seems very odd. All is under warranty just wondering if this is user error or a legit issue.

Thanks
Chad

I had a tech come out and look. As it turns out, the 3 way valve was installed backwards and as a result there was very little water making it through the heater. Once the valve was reversed and sending the flow through the heater, the issue was solved and it heats up 2-3x faster. Thanks all!
