Here is pool at the end of third day. Steel complete. Plumbing done and ready for electrician to install ground then city inspection. After 3 days of incredibly fast progress I believe we may stall for several days :(

Tomorrow is Sunday, then we need electrician to show up for his one small task and then schedule city inspection before we can go any further.

Outside chance of Gunnite starting by Friday June 28, let's hope! Weather remains ideal for construction so if the city doen't cause a delay we may get lucky on the Gunnite crew being ready to start this job by end of next week.

Just catching up with this one and man did they move fast! Did you ever hear from your insurance? We are considering a diving pool but plan on asking soon to see where we are with that. Some say ok, some say we will drop you. So I have heard...

Good luck and keep the pics coming. Enjoying this taking shape so quickly.

Now we are on day 6 after a quick start and then a slow weekend. The electricioan has installed the grounding system and we passed city inspection #1 today!

Here is a close up of the grounding wiring near the sun bench

Here you can see all the varios places the grounding attaches, even over to the right to some steel that will form a low wall for a planter

Here is the big picture on Day 6....unless you look closely you don't see any real change. We are in queue waiting for gunnite day.

Congratulations !

We are also in SL and I believe we will break ground on Monday 6/24.
Labor day sounds realistic. Lets see who gets done first :)

Cheers!

So was yesterday the big day??? Have you broken ground?

Not yet. We had our layout meeting last Friday so I was guessing they'd break ground on Monday. It was just wishful thinking on my part.
They did not commit to a day but I am told it will be later this week.

Your build is coming along swimmingly it seems - hope its smooth sailing all the way in.

I did hear back from insurance company (State Farm). Adding pool, with or without diving board, has no direct impact on our insurance policy cost. So that is good news. :whoot:

They did suggest reviewing our current liability coverage to ensure we had adequate protection against bodily injury claims. I am following their advice to verify liability coverage limits -- but even if we add another $500K in coverage it would only be about $25 more annually.

Gunnite tomorrow!!

Just got a text from the construction manager for the PB. We are up for first slot tomorrow morning to have pool shot. Crew is supposed to be here at 6:30 AM. I am excited to see the pace picking up again after four pretty slow days. I promise more pics tomorrow of the gunnite going in.

Just realized I can shoot photos from our second floor game room (duh) so here is a night shot of the pool before gunite.

I am so confused why people are afraid of diving boards. One of the main items I required when putting in my pool was a diving board. Grew up with one, my kids have used the one at my parents house so as long as the pool was the proper size, I saw no issues. Everyone kept telling me how dangerous they are and I should do a slide instead.....really.......yeah.....for my friends who had slides at their pools when I was gorwing up...we used to climb up then jump off the top....much safer than a diving board! LOL... Several times people fell....one broke his arm....so maybe they are "safer" when used as intended but kids don't always follow rules no matter how much you enforce them.

Also, the diving board is non slippery so I'd rather have them jump off that then my slippery as can be stamped concrete deck!

I did speak to my homeownsers insurance and they had no issues. Since my pool is 20x40, it is bigger than minimum required size and the depth at 8 and half feet is also within spec.

Looking forward to following your build. The design is beautiful!
