New pool pump plumbing

Hey all,

I received my new 1.5 HP pool pump the other day, replacing my 10+ year old pump.

I have looked at the PVC plumbing and have no clue what fittings I have to buy.

Attached are 3 photos, one of the plumbing, one of the old pump and one of the new pump.

All pipes are 1.5", but for some reason the last piece of the inlet pipe was adapted to 2", both on the last straight piece of PVC and the pump inlet.

The outlet is a standard 1.5".

I can't seem to get the fittings of of the old one.

Can anyone advice me on what pieces I need to buy to hook up my new pump?

Can I just buy 2 pieces that I can screw into the inlet and outlet or do I need to buy multiple pieces and glue them together?

Thanks!

What is the model # of the new pump. Remove old fittings from previous pump (union piece) and screw to inside of new pump. Looking at photos it appears new pump will accept 2" outside or 1.5" inside fittings. Model # of new pump would help....

How would I go about removing the fittings from the old pump?

It seems like it's cemented in, haven't been able to pull it out.

The pump model # is Pentair P-SFL-151 (it's a European model I suppose)

It definitely accepts 1.5" inside fittings, but the plumbing in the end is 2" (I don't know why, they did this 20 years ago).

Best solution would be to transfer everything from the old pump to the new, but how?

The old pump fittings are threaded in, you won't be able to use these anyways. Did the pump include two adapters with unions, if so you thread them on to the suction and discharge of pump. You will have to cut off the old 2" union and and then you can start new going to pump. The new pump adapters allow for 2" plumbing on the outside of adapter. According to the part # this is the superflo vs pump. If there are no adapters with pump then you will have to reduce the 2" to 1-1/2" and then thread a fitting into pump
