New pool owner - water treatment question.

You have a sock adding CYA that hasn't been tested yet, takes a while to show up on the test even after it dissolves out of the sock. You have a chlorine tablet that is also releasing CYA into the water so it would likely be a good idea to quit using the tablets and save them for the next water fill when you NEED to add CYA.

I just wanted to say thanks, for everyone that has helped with this years pool adventure. So far, has not been near as hard as I figured it would be.
Also, with what I have learned in the past 2 weeks, opening the pool next season should be much simpler and much cheaper. knowing that I an not tied to brand specific chems, except maybe for the cya, will give me a lot more confidence next spring.
And having the pool math calculator to help with the fresh fill water takes a lot of the worry out of it.

Moving toward using the Seasonal Pool standards for my pool even though i am about 700 gallons larger than it says I should be.

Still waiting on the Cya to show on the test, but not to big of a concern.
The big thing is that my daughter got her cast off today so she can really start enjoying the water.

The Seasonal Pool standards, as outlined in the how to section have been working out great, no issues with cloudy or green water, simple snuff to add bleach everyday or every other day, and keep it at the right levels.

It would be nice if the sun would stay out more than 1/2 a day so the water would heat up!!!

Also, I can not get my inter pump to stop sucking air, it still pumps the water, but not as well as it should, next investment will be a bigger, better pump.
