Good evening folks

I’m in the middle of a new pool build and I’m getting busy with my personal life etc and I’m not looking forward to pebblesheen and the startup that is involved. Mainly the brushing.

I’ve been searching the forums and looking at the quartz or simple white plaster for all I care and I can’t find any solid intel—is there a finish that requires little to no startup work on an in ground swg pool?

I want to fill it with salt water, brush it a handful of times (even just once a day I’m cool with but multiple times is untenable) and just let it rock. Am I wishing for something that doesn’t exist?

Thank you

You are going to need to brush any finish multiple times a day because they are all plaster. You also can’t use the SWG for the first month because the plaster has to cure first. Have you thought about hiring a neighborhood kid to do it after school and you could do it in the morning?

I have, yes. I think I could manage 2x/day morning/night. It’s the middle of the day or greater than 2 (such as middle of the day) that would be an obstacle.

Acid wash on Pebble sheen seems to reduce a lot of the initial work, or at least in my case. After the first 3 days of brushing 2x per day, I only did it once daily for another 2-3 days. I quit and did it only weekly. When I checked how much plaster dust was in the leaf canister, pump baskets, and filter (post 30 day filter clean recommended by PB), it wasn't too bad.

During my brushing, I did not visibly see much, if any plaster dust floating around. Even with me slacking a bit, it turned out well.
