New Pool Build - North Dallas

Pool has been filled a few days now. Test results are as follows using Taylor K2006

FC: 7.5
pH: 7.4
TA: 60
CYA: 50
CH: 200
Water temp: 80
CSI calculating to -.60

Should I be bumping up my CH?

What startup guide did the builder give you? Or, what product did they use for the plaster? The startup guide is important for the longevity of the plaster...

WetEdge is the plaster brand. They use the NTP guide. PB has been managing it but seems like CSI should come up a bit. What is the best way to bring it up?

Your TA should be 80-100 per the guide...

If you raise your TA to 100, allow pH to rise to 7.6 and raise CH to 250, your CSI should be slightly positive.
Post those numbers into pool math and tell me what you get for CSI...

I would also test your fill water for TA, CH and pH and post those here...

100 takes it to -0.33

Close as you can get, and maintain the NPC, unless you raise your CH Higher.
What is the TA, CH and pH of your fill water?

Just tested fill water.

TA: 110
pH: 8.0
CH: 200

So, CH fill water of 200 is middling (not low, not high).
Raise your CH to 300. With evaporation and 200CH input water, your CH will rise. Raising it now will protect the longevity of the plaster, but will shorten the time until you need to replace water (because of high CH).

Ok, will do. PB said he would start raising TA tomorrow. I'm not sure how he intends to do that. I'll find out.

When measuring TA. If the color turns from light pink to dark pink do I count that drop? Do I stop the count then it stops turning darker and has to color or tint change?

^^This...then subtract the last drop that didn't cause a color change.

Wow that was a lot of typos. I should really do a better job of proof reading.

Thanks, I was stopping the count when it turned red but didn't include the drop that turned it dark red. So TA should be 70 not 60.
