Hey all thanks for all the great information on here. I have been looking around here for a while and we are excited to put our pool up this Spring. I had question in regards to hard plumbing. It seems that most of the plumbing outlet/inlets are made for 1.5" except my Hayward Heater. Should I just go with 1.5" PVC and reduce down from the Heater or "pipe up " the whole system to 2" ? I'm looking at a 30 foot run to/from the pool at the equipment pad I have laid out. Thanks in advance for your time.

Yes, the fittings are made for 1.5", however, that will only add a small amount of head loss to the system versus running 1.5" pipe in lieu of 2".

You should run 2" pipe as a minimum unless you are running some small features which in some cases you can drop down to 1.5".

Bottom line, run minimum 2" pipe. If its not much more, go with 2.5" if you can!
