At the end of my 30 day start up and “ pool guy” just added salt and probably a gallon of acid. 30 min later
PH looks less than 6.8 I have Borax on hand, no washing soda. Just would like support to help me through.
TA is 50
haven’t been using pool math lately, just been using old pool math web page
pool is approx 14000 gallons
thanks

LL, sorry for the delay. Have you added the Borax yet? Any movement on that pH? You certainly don't want it that low. You can also add some baking soda to get the TA up to about 80 which should help. Of course aeration also increases pH. Post a full set of results if you like and we'll see what else may need attention.

Sorry for the longer delay!I used soda ash and took my Ph to 7.2 and TA went to 70
of course with new plaster it was up to 8 in no time!
can’t believe I’m going through this again, but at least I ( think) know what to do!
today’s readings
FC 3.5 CC 0
PH 8
TA 90
CYA 40
CH 225
salt 3100
temp 89
Have one more visit from pool service
