If anyone followed my renovation thread, I got new diamondbrite plaster in Sept 23. So about 8 months old. My problem is that everyone complains the pH rises so fast on new plaster but mine doesn’t rise fast like I expected. (I know I should stop complaining). The first few days I had to add acid to get in the mid 7’s. During the first few days I added a lot of baking soda to get the TA to ~130 and I also raised the CH up around 700 in an attempt to do a lazy version of the bicarb startup and Im curious if that had anything to do with it, or might it be that Im floating a couple trichlor pucks in the water to add FC and CYA. Or maybe I just won the pH lottery?
