I want to replace my existing Century single speed 1 hp 1.4 SF with either a variable speed or two speed.
I was looking at the Neptune variable speeds then saw the Neptune hybrid. They are a somewhat cheaper with better lead time.
I can't find many details, just some pool industry stuff, - programming and future software. The 1.65 is $34 more than the 1.25.
Since it's variable speed/programmable would the 1.65 hp be better?

The regular Neptune interested me because of the modbus/RS485 controls. I can't find any info on that for the hybrid.

Motor HP must be greater than impeller HP.

If you have a 1.4 HP impeller than a 1.65 motor will work while a 1.25 HP will get overheated and fail prematurely.
