New Member Questions - Saltwater Swim Spa

Hello all and thanks already for the beginning of an education! I'm awaiting arrival of my Taylor test kit and have a few questions. I was attempting to use the SWG Calculator and discovered I couldn't find some of the info requested. My Marquis ATV Splash is a 14' Swim Spa that the dealer outfitted with a Bluwater Blu Fusion bromine generator.

I'm looking for any feedback regarding run times as I'm currently not seeing much production although the manufacturer test strips indicate I have slightly above the minimum required levels of sodium bromide. Secondly I'm confused as to whether or not chlorine be used with this system as a stop gap until I get things balanced and the SWG is functioning normally again.

I've had this spa for nearly a year and previously had decent detectable levels using the test strips the dealer provided. I know these are not entirely accurate which is why I ordered the Taylor kit. The water has always looked pretty good although we're dealing with a staining issue that the dealer recently corrected with a Muriatic Acid treatment. This issue has reappeared since I drained and refilled a few weeks ago. Not looking for much beyond the two questions above at this time since I don't have accurate test numbers yet but appreciate any feedback or advice.

Thanks!

Well I completed the Ascorbic Acid treatment this weekend and it worked like a charm. Used Borax and Chlorine bleach to bring levels back up slowly over the weekend. Swam this morning after a quick strip test and everything's looking good. Thanks all for the information. Forwarded links to my dealer in an attempt to help them out. They were recommending a 10 day treatment plan they developed with Jack's Magic during a conference call. I don't think that will be needed now.
