Ive had pools most of my adult life, both above and below ground. My current pool is a 20 year old in-ground gunite. I’ve had very few issues except phosphorus issues at times. I recently used the wrong algicide and now my pool has copper that eats the chlorine as soon as it goes in. It at started at .3 and remains there even though I’ve put in 4 or 5 bottles of metal remover and have had a Culater bag in the skimmer for over 3 weeks. The pool looks great but I’m concerned that the copper may cause issues down the road. Ph levels have not been a problem. Do I need to drain and refill or is there some way to eliminate the copper? I’m and old dog that’s learning new tricks.
