The liner replacement for my above ground pool will be completed tomorrow. We had water delivered to fill it, but I am not exactly sure how to get the water balanced. I looked at the school section and see it says don't SLAM for first 30 days. I am unsure what steps I should take to get the water right. If someone could point me in the right direction.

First step is to test the water once you fill the pool.

Your CYA will be ZERO, so have some dry stabilizer and an old sock handy. You are unlikely to need to SLAM it.

Do you have any other pool equipment that is not in your signature?
If not then all you need to worry about is CYA, pH and FC.

I think u may be looking at plaster pool startup instructions.
You have a vinyl liner so this doesn’t apply.

Do u have a recommended test kit?
Tf100/ Taylor k2006c?
If not get one ordered- add the 30ppm dry stabilizer/cya (via the sock method) & follow the FC/CYA Levels adding 4 ppm of liquid chlorine each day until your kit arrives. Use PoolMath to calculate amounts.
When u can test post them here & we can help u through the rest of the parameters.
As stated above- chlorine is paramount so no nasties grow in your new pool!
Here’s info on each chemical & how to add them
