New Jandy Variable speed pump/Aqualink RS system

Hello, I am new to pool ownership and new to this forum. We have a Jandy Variable Speed pump with an aqualink RS control system. I recently noticed that when my PDA controller showed that my cleaner was on, it actually wasn’t running. So somehow now when I select cleaner the valve does actuate to the cleaner, but my pump doesn’t start up. If the pump is running, and I select cleaner on, the valve actuates and the cleaner works fine. So my question would be what would cause my pump not to turn on when I select cleaner?

Do you know if there is a pump speed assigned to the cleaner? I don't have a PDA, so not sure if the programming is the same, but if you have a System Setup -> VSP Setup -> Speed Setup in your menu tree, that is where I would look. There are something like 8 speed options and one of them should be assigned to the Cleaner Aux. (may also help to tell us what kind of cleaner it is)

When I get home I’ll get all the specifics. I do know it’s a Polaris cleaner. Also, it was working like a champ not that long ago. So I’m a little confused as to what changed.

Eureka! I figured it out. Somehow in my PDA -System Setup - Assign JVAs my cleaner got deleted from AUX 2 position. So the pump didn’t know it was suppose to turn on. I’m sure I did it to myself, and I’m ok admitting that. LOL. So we seem to be up and running. Fingers crossed.

Fantastic. I was first going to suggest your AssignJVA menu item, but I assumed that was okay since you said the valve was actuating when you selected Cleaner. I learn something on every issue.
