Hi from a former lurker on TFP. Became a first-time pool owner last year and thought I knew a good amount about pools since I worked them in my youth (lifeguard manager, comfortable with testing chemicals, backwashing pumps, skimming/vacuuming, etc.).
Whole new ballgame with cartridges and a SWG, variable pump speeds, and figuring out whether to run waterfalls all the time or just on special occasions
Faced two algae outbreaks and SLAMmed based on TFP info. Hoping to avoid that this summer! I do think I'll need to decide to get a new SWG or not based on the way it's behaving (keeps misreading salt levels and not wanting to generate).
