New Intex sand pump installed skimmer basket lid leaks has o ring on HELP ME

I have 16 x 48 summer waves elite round above ground pool bought intex 3000 GPH sand pump the water is coming out bad from Clear lid all around it. It's new has O ring in can anyone help me please already spent days setting it all up. Anyone else have this issue
