New Intex Pool Owner Questions

You need to run your pump for these reasons:
To mix chemical additions (30 minutes is sufficient),
to skim/remove debris effectively to your liking,
& to allow your swg to produce enough chlorine.
Your daily testing will show you how you need to adjust the run time. If it’s not maintaining target 🎯 fc levels
See—> FC/CYA Levels
at its current setting increase the run time & dose to target with liquid chlorine. Repeat as necessary. Minimum is NOT target 🎯 minimum is HOT LAVA!
In south Florida summer you will likely need a cya level of around 70 to help protect the fc the swg makes from being consumed by the sun as quickly as it gets made. BEFORE raising cya you should ensure you are algae free by doing an
Overnight Chlorine Loss Test.
I always set my pump & swg 30 minutes apart.
Example: Pump comes on at least 30 minutes before swg & goes off at least 30 minutes after swg.

Another question...

Rained pretty hard here today and the pool started overflowing a bit. That's fine, right? I'm sure the kids will splash water out in no time :)

Also, knowing I have young boys, how sturdy are these Intex Ultra Frame pools? When the boys play in it I see everything moving a bit...Is that fine?

You can use a garden hose to siphon out a few inches if you don't have a submersible pump. Or pull a hose from the equipment if you can handle flooding there and don't mind getting wet.

So lemme preface this by stating how much I love the 'temporary pools'. They get SO many people in the game, and the bleacher seats are 100X better than not going to the game at all. The beer doesn't care which seats you have, and neither do I.

That said, it's a bag full of water and it's going to flex. When kids are being kids, it's gonna flex alot. Occasionally check to make sure the legs aren't walking and make them calm down a bit if so. Protip, be prepared to tell them again in 7 minutes, because kids. :ROFLMAO:

Thanks but if I let it over flow a bit that's fine and I don't really need to do anything right?

Oh yes, I've seen the pool flex already a bit and that's why I was asking to be sure. If I understand you correctly, it should be fine.

It likely won't break. It won't skim either, so up to you.

Correct. Let the kids be kids. If they're being particularly rowdy and the pool legs are walking around, make them be medium rowdy.

Does that mean that I will always need to constantly adjust the skimmer based on the water level of the pool?
I'm sorry. I forgot they have different setups for the intex's. Does your pool have a through wall skimmer, a suction port, or a floating skimmer ?

I bought a floating skimmer that hooks to one of my two suction port.
OK so as long as it's floating the water level won't matter. (y) On traditional skimmers, if the water is too high the boyant doors can't sink to skim properly.

Have the kids lower the pool the fun way. Bet them they cant do it in 12(?) minutes. :)
