I've been a member of tfp for a long time, but I've been absent here for maybe 9 years after we took down our 17 year old pool and moved. Now we are living on a different piece of property and we're installing a small rectangle Intex pool for our autistic grandson who thinks he is a fish. Because it's a small pool, we chose not to dig out our yard, but to build a pool platform instead. My carpenter husband has built the heavy duty deck low to the ground out of pressure treated lumber topped with pressure treated plywood. We will be using a gorilla mat on top of the plywood for cushioning.
This might be a silly question, but would you still use the ground cover on the deck just for an extra layer of protection in case grass tries to grow up through the deck, or would the Gorilla mat be sufficient? We have killed off the grass, but we all know grass has a mind of it's own!
I will post pictures and change my signature soon.
