New house with pool, diving in...

Hi. We moved this past summer to our 2007 house w/ pool in North Carolina. I'm 64, retired military who always lived in furnished housing with a community pool.

We chose the house with family holidays in mind: all seven grandchildren love to swim.

Ownership has been a drink from a fire hose. I'm a diy kind of guy, engineer by training, trying to figure it all out. Every bit of help will be deeply appreciated, and I'll try to pay forward the favor if/when I'm the old hand.

I'd suggest digging into the Pool School articles (consider them your FM, no cartoon drawings though)
