New Hayward MaxFlo VS to replace a Challenger 1hp

Hello group,

I am thinking of replacing my old Challenger 1HP single speed pump with a Hayward MaxFlo VS to better manage energy costs and noise. Plus take advantage of rebates from my energy provider.

Do you have any thoughts on this pump for my application? Too broad a question?

Thanks.

Well since no replies I had to go with what I researched. I bought and installed the unit today. After some initial suction side problems the pot is free of air and happily pumping water throughout my pool. Lots to learn in programming, integrating my Polaris into the mix and also my heating system.

I parked the old Challenger 1HP single speed pump in the garage for the short term just in case something goes terribly wrong.

I'd love to hear any tips you all have about best practice integrating the cleaner and heater in this setup when I used to rely on mechanical timers.

Thanks.

Paul
