NEW Gunite IG pool - West Texas

Here's the finished steps

And the "deep end bench" (wife's term)

PB had wife put the hose in the hot tub first. I found it strange. But oh well

Here's what it looked like when I went to bed last night.

Here's what it looked like at 7am when my wife pestered me out of bed. It's about to breach the second step. So I win the bet the wife and I made. Not sure what my prize is yet.

I have no clue what the plastic sack is about. I'll ask PB.

I've already brushed it once. Ph is stupid high. But I can't circulate yet. So that's just gonna have to be what it is until I can.

From the parts of plaster I can see it appears we have good exposure (no acid wash). So far I'm pleased.

I'm going to have my work cut out for me with all this brushing.

Full

Incase the ph isn't high enough already

More tomorrow. I have to vac up the plaster dust. I got the pH under control (1 gal of acid) and it was still good at 11pm. I will clean everything up then adjust pH and add chlorine.

Heck, no need to thank me. I'm glad to be able to share my experience with others who actually care to see it.

Thank y'all for all the kind comments. We still have quite a bit of work to get done before this project is over. I can't wait to get it finished.

I spent all weekend out there brushing/tinkering/testing.

Ph has been pretty stable so far. It has been extremely sunny and that was wrecking havoc on my bleach. I caved and added what should turn into 30ppm cya. I can't go through this much bleach everyday.

Color has really turned to a pretty baby blue. Somewhat cloudy but I've only had to backwash once. Filtering away. We didn't acid wash and I'm doing a traditional startup (bicarb is not indicated with my high TA and CH). I had quite significant plaster dust the first day. Now that ph is into range dust has greatly decreased.

Please post pics! I'm trying to decide on a plaster right now and we have cobalt tiles too. I'd love to see how the water is looking. For so long, we wait for the pool to be finished and then we really have to work!!

I keep forgetting to come check the thread even though I'm updated already.

You know I love it, looks fantastic, and I cannot say enough how much I love the shape. It takes on the true full effect being full more than any other builds I've seen. Y'all really did well man!

Many thanks, We are thrilled with how it's looking, of course the lovely wife is, as ya know...it's her doing. hahaha.

jro, I'll get some pics after work today. I had just enough time to test ph and CL and vac the bottom before coming in for work.

just looked at the cameras....******, I'm slowly draining the spa into the pool. shot a text to the pool guy, He needs to go over there anyway :p

He finished draining the spa. I'm hoping to install the light.

Here's a CCTV shot it gives a fair representation of the color.

White balance doesn't seem quite right. I can shoot a pic with my real camera and fix it in lightroom. But that will have to wait til the weekend.

LIGHTS - I cheaped out on the spa light...I'm now regretting that decision...I may change it (I'll try to wait until this bulb burns out).

Yay for lights! No more empty niches. I love your colored lights, but we are doing plain white LED CrystaLogic, so understand the need to choose where to spend your pennies. Your pool is just beautiful - are you over the moon excited? Have you taken a dip yet?
