Hello from Cypress, TX, in NW Houston!

We are interviewing pool builders and getting our design refined (almost embarrassed to post my sketch, just yet). The pool will be an in-ground pool, geometric shape around 30x25, with a spa and a linear fire feature (with stone bench and narrow pergola) at one end. Design features planned: raised beam with scuppers, sun deck near spa, travertine coping and split-face travertine accents on the raised beam or waterfall from spa, TBD PebbleSheen (Irish Mist with shimmering sea is a leading candidate now), and TBD porcelain waterline tile (in a color that accents the water color). Salt water is planned. An outdoor shower and a pool bathroom will go in at the garage. Feeling quite overwhelmed, but happy there is a great resource such as this forum! I'll post more when I have a nice-looking first draft. If you have any tips on how to find the best porcelain waterline tile, etc., please let me know. Thank you!

Welcome to TFP... A Great resource for all your new pool building questions... :shark:

Good job on going with a saltwater pool... it is by far the easiest type of pool to maintain...

My standard advice to all new pool builders is to make sure that no one sells you any "Magic"... Things like UV systems, Ozone systems, and mineral based systems are all magic ,but no rabbit... They will not help keep your pool sanitized and are just a waste of your money.

Good luck on your search for the right pool builder for you..

Thanks for posting,

Jim R.

Thanks, Jimrahbe! I'm glad to hear you support the saltwater pool as well. One quick question: is it okay to post renderings here, with or without the pool builder's name stamp? I have seen others get help with placement of returns, etc., and definitely want to get those items best planned for our pool.

CCTX,

We love pictures and drawings... so post away... About the only thing we don't like are negative comments by name, because we usually only get one side of the story... :p

Thanks,

Jim R.
