Hello,

Just wanted to stop in and say hello. For years, I've paid a fortune for pool service, which I should be doing on my own, so I am quietly picking up the knowledge and experience I need to take over managing my pool. For now, I am avoiding the temptation to add chemicals behind the pool service, but I am testing daily, taking notes on what I feel should be added/modified, and then comparing those notes with the actual service performed.

In addition, I am also trying to optimize the amount of time my VS pump runs throughout the day while trying not to have my electric bill go bonkers. For those of you with PGE, you know what I'm talking about. I added a flowmeter so I can calculate pump run times and such.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading through the Pool School material and taking ownership of the maint of my pool!
Thanks for having me.

A little about my pool:
- 30,000 Gallons, in-ground w/ Spa, Plaster with some type of finish I forget the name
- Inline chlorinator
- Single waterfall on dedicated pump
- Jandy VS pump
- 2.0" Plumbing w/ flowmeter
- Jandy CV580 cartridge filter
- Jandy JXI Propane Heater (not sure how many BTU)
- Polaris VRX IQ+ Cleaner
- iAqualink Automation

Testing Tools:
- Taylor K-1005 DPD (For pH, Alk, CYA, Hardness, etc)
- Taylor K-1515 FAS DPD (Chlorine Only)

promise to do my very best to use search, read articles and try and answer my own questions before I post 😆
Many times what you're reading won't be entirely relevant to your pool. Newbs don't always easily seperate what makes the vinyl pool in NJ thread different from their plaster pool in sunny CA.

Please ask anytime. It could save us all alot of trouble.

And Welcome !!!
