Hey everyone,

New, first time pool owner coming up. I've been learning a lot reading through the site.

My pool is in the ground, equipment hooked up, full of water, and now balanced well (from what my kit is telling me, at least). The shell still has the 4x4 post bracings strapped on (no patio yet); can I remove these now that the pool has gravel backfilled and is full of water, or am I best to wait for the patio? My thought is that these were to prevent the shell from caving in before it was filled, but wasn't sure if there was risk of it bowing out.

With the weather breaking, we'd like to still start using it before the landscaping crew gets in, but I didn't want to cause any issues.

Appreciate any info so I don't screw anything up!

Welcome to TFP! I can't visualize the use of the 4x4s used, so you can post a pic if you like. Sounds like the shell is "locked" into place, but I would still recommend asking the installer if you can remove those. That's the one who will try to squeak out of a warranty issue if there ever is one. Congrats on the new pool. :swim:

Our fiberglass pool was installed in 2012. After the pool was in the ground, backfilled (with gravel) and filled with water, the installer removed the 4x4 support. Didn't have any problems with the pool bowing out.
