We just had our plumbing completed on our new pool build. I've been watching the gauge set by the plumber and it went from 22 psi to 15 psi in about a days span. Then down to under 10 psi the next day. I've searched but couldn't find a clear requirement for testing. Should the pressure hold constantly or is the reduction I'm seeing just the pressure equaling out or something?

The equipment has since been set so I don't know if we will be able to test again?

Good question. I'd be a little nervous about that. Sometimes the rubber bungs can let a little air past them and lose pressure. Is your plumbing configuration such that you can plug off the returns and pressurise from the skimmer?

Yes, I think so. The hose bibb is still in place at one of the skimmers and the returns are still all capped. The pump and filter have been set but can't I just turn the valves to closed and repressurize the lines and see what happens? This is my first pool so I have no idea really.
