I opened the pool to clear water today and clean up any debris. I had 7 FC at open and let the pool in the sun let it breath after being closed. My question all my number are in ideal range and chlorine is still at 6 after being open in the sun all day. Do I need to slam it to start the year or just put the autocover back on and begin the fun.

Have you done a Overnight Chlorine Loss Test test to confirm that you do not have any algae? Is your water clear? Is your CC less than 1ppm?
It would also help to post a full set of test results.

CYA 30 going to up it to 40 if all is good water wise.

Like is said pool was clear no algae just a few leaves and worms. 7FC at opening and at 6 now after cleaning all days and being in the sun.

Also filled the pool with clean water start of last year and used the tfp method all summer long and it was great zero issues
