Looking for recommendations on variable speed pump:
33K gallon true L pool (if I calculated correctly) -- it is 36 and 32 L - 16 W in both directions - 4 ft and 8 ft
1.5 inch plumbing (what I see above ground anyway)
While price matters, not the main factor - willing to consider all
built in timer/control function
I've replaced pump motor (including strainer sometimes) several times over the last 20+ years on this pool - have always gone with a 1.5 Hayword Super pump or AO smith/Century motor - sometimes lasts for years, sometimes last just a couple - have usually got a good deal (under 300) - but looking to step it up this time around - had been looking at the Black and Decker 1.5 HP Variable - but latest reviews are poor regarding the timer freezing up or quitting -- would like some recommendations on a good one to go with - this pool started out as a salt water, but over the years I've replaced cells, boards, complete panels, etc. - so got tired of it and just went with a manual chlorinator - and go BBB method now. System has manual timers left over from salt system that I still use - but they are shaky at best with age - so would like one with a built in timer.
