Need to add liquid chlorine without pump running; will brushing walls with Whale brush & using polaris cleaner be enough to disperse the chlorine?

Liquid Chlorine
We just opened our pool on Friday evening June 2, We were able to test the pool water for stabilizer, pH and alkalinity and then added 10 L of liquid chlorine at 10.8 %. Per Pool Math this should raise the chlorine in our size pool by 10 ppm. The water was fairly clear; we do not see algae but there was a fair amount of sand/grit on the pool floor. We have a mesh cover and we always have this. We noticed a very slight drip from a newly installed sand filter. The pump ran for about 2-3 hours after adding the chlorine. We were able to clean about 1/2 of the pool with the hand vacuum before we lost suction. It was necessary to backwash several times as we were vacuuming the debris which included a few leaves and sediment. We turned the pump off last night. When we went to turn the pump on this morning we noticed more leakage at the intake side. The pump is able to run but we are not getting adequate suction to create a flow. I tested the water tonight and I was pleased that we still have 2.5 ppm FC and 3 TC.

We have to wait until Monday June 5 for the pool service to come out to check the sand filter installation; fix the leaks and see if we have any other problems. The sand filter was installed before we opened the pool and it could not be tested at the time of installation. The pool services in our area get very busy with pool opening season and they wanted to install it before the busy season. They said to call them if we notice any leaks when we open the pool.

My question is this: I would like to add liquid chlorine to keep the chlorine at a minimum acceptable level until we can get the pool pump running again on Monday. It is very hot and sunny in our area and on a hot sunny day the pool generally uses 5 to 6 ppm chlorine. I would like to add liquid chlorine without the pump running if possible. My idea is to first dilute the chlorine in a lot of water and drizzle slowly around the pool. We would then brush the pool walls and floor with the Whale brush and use the Polaris pool cleaner. Will the combination of diluting the chlorine, brushing the pool and using the pool cleaner be enough to circulate the liquid chlorine and prevent it from dropping to the floor bottom. We do not want to damage the vinyl lining.

We know that we need to balance the water once the pool pump is operational again but in the meantime the pool chemistry does not look too bad for opening. We just want to be sure we do not develop an algae problem in the meantime. Our stabilizer is at 30; pH 7.2; alkalinity 70.

Any suggestions or advice are welcome!

You don't need to mess with the diluting part. Just pour slowly in an area of the pool and follow it up quickly with a few brush strokes. It will spread out and dilute soon enough in the pool. If you have a spare submersible pump of any kind laying around, you can also drop that in the pool to help move water around. But go around the pool in different areas, pour a little and brush a little. You should be fine.
